Maritime Museum

Do you know the difference between buccaneers, pirates, and privateers? Have you ever seen a cannon used to harpoon whales? Did you know that the rugged BC coastline has caused many shipwrecks? The Maritime Museum takes you on a journey through BC’s maritime history with exhibits on all these things and more.

The Maritime Museum was originally built as a courthouse—in fact it is where Matthew Begbie once served as a judge. The courtroom has since been restored and is open to the public.
