Hadrian's Wall

Hadrian's Wall in Great Britain

Built by the Roman emperor Hadrian from 122 to 126 BCE, Hadrian's Wall crosses Great Britain at its narrowest point (118km).

Hadrian's Wall marked the northernmost point of the Roman Empire in Britain. It was built to protect the Romans from invaders from the north.

Hadrian's Wall is a World Heritage Site. Much of it still stands today.
