What you just did was hyperlink. When you are feeling "hyper," do you jump around? Well, the same thing happens when you point to and click on a hyperlink - it "jumps" to the page of information connected by the link.

On a web page, a hyperlink word appears underlined (Cool!) and in a different colour from the other text you see. Symbols and graphics can be links too.

What you see on your screen is called a page. Instead of being a page of a book or magazine it is an electronic page. When you use links to move through information, it is like turning the pages of a book. Most web sites are built so you don't need to follow the pages in any order.

Now that you know about links, let's get on with linking! Click the Next button to link to Page 2, Travelling in Cyberspace.
