    Parents and Students

All Open School BC resources are designed to address learning outcomes as specified by the BC Ministry of Education. These are the same outcomes BC teachers teach to in a classroom or through distance education, so using our resources will compliment what your child is learning in school. Open School BC has many complete courses, as well as supplementary resources to provide students with extra help.

    Support Resources

Open School BC course materials may be used to help students achieve:

    • more practise in a difficult subject
    • advanced study in a subject of aptitude or interest
    • completion of a missed subject or course

Below is a list of some of the resources designed to help students outside of their regular classes:

    Provincial Exam Preparation Packages
Written to address current exam specifications, these packages provide practice tests, as well as study suggestions, explanations, notes on answers, and in some cases exam writing tips.

    Courses
Parents and students may purchase almost any Open School BC resource; however, to receive credit for a course, a student must be registered for the course with a BC school district. To find a school, course or program visit Learn Now BC.

    Course Multimedia
Many newer courses have CDs with interactive multimedia to illustrate key concepts. These may be helpful to students even if they are not taking the Open School BC version of the course as learning outcomes addressed in the multimedia are set by the Ministry of Education.
