FOODSAFE Level 1 and 2 and the FOODSAFE Level 1 Refresher course
The FOODSAFE online courses are now available online. These courses cover key safe food handling information including the causes of foodborne illness, receiving and storing food, serving food and cleaning and sanitizing.
Note: you must have an email address and a modern computer with sound and high-speed Internet access to take any of these courses.
The online courses offer the following advantages:
Work at your own pace anywhere at any time—all that is required is a computer with an Internet connection.
Government, business, health, safety and education professionals in British Columbia developed these courses cooperatively.
Note: only the FOODSAFE Level 1 online Course has an instructor.
Upon successful completion of the FOODSAFE course and exam, you will be registered with BC Centre for Disease Control and be issued a certificate from your local health authority.

FOODSAFE Level 1: from $115. Note: discounts are available to organizations that purchase multiple seats and agree to invigilate the final exam.
FOODSAFE Level 2: $165 per student.

The Food Safety Basics Course is $25.
The online FOODSAFE courses are only available in English.
FOODSAFE Level 1 provides all food service employees with the mandatory training in proper food handling practices.
They will cover important food safety and worker safety information including foodborne illness, receiving and storing food, preparing food, serving food, cleaning and sanitizing.
FOODSAFE Level 2 is designed for food service industry owners, managers, kitchen managers, executive chefs, and others who are responsible for managing food safety in food service establishments.
The FOODSAFE Level 1 Refresher Course is a short course designed for people who have successfully completed FOODSAFE Level 1 in the past, and need to renew their existing FOODSAFE Level 1 certificate.
Food Safety Basics – Review Course is a review of the FOODSAFE Level 1 course for those that are about to take the FOODSAFE Level 2 classroom course.
