Social Studies 9 focuses on Europe and North America from 1500 to 1815 with emphasis on understanding, connecting, applying knowledge, and practising active citizenship. To help illustrate the flow of history, the events are explored, discussed and demonstrated chronologically. Throughout the program, links to current events are used to illustrate historic issues.

Social Studies 9 is designed for self-paced learners and is also an exceptional teacher reference. All course components use modular instruction, projects, guided practice, and assessments (both formal and informal) to inspire the student.
