Communications 12 meets the learning outcomes set by the BC Ministry of Education's IRP and addresses the new provincial exam specifications. Organized into four modules, this course is accompanied by engaging, interactive multimedia resources that help students understand course concepts and develop skills related to communications in the workplace and everyday life.  Communications 12 is available in both print and online formats.
Through this course, students explore topics on media literacy, the writing process, workplace communications, and the appreciation of literature. Students learn practical skills to help improve their proficiency in reading and writing. In addition, students will learn how to design and present information, create professional workplace communications, navigate the Internet efficiently and effectively, and become informed media and technology consumers.

This CD offers a collection of multimedia titles that explains course concepts in an interactive, engaging way including:

The Teacher’s Guide contains a description of each lesson, the learning outcomes addressed in the lesson, the required resources, answer keys and scoring rubrics for the assignments. There are also helpful teaching tips for both classroom and online environments, alternative activities to address different learning styles, and suggestions for using other resources.

The Teacher's Guide also includes two tests per module with answer keys.

System Requirements

To make use of the multimedia resources requires a modern computer with a CD-Rom drive and a Flash 7 Player (free to download from Adobe's website). To take an online course requires all of the above, plus an internet connection and a current web browser.
