with Open School BC’s Aboriginal Fiction module for
Senior English.
Created for the online environment, this multimedia module
is also available for classroom study as a CD. This resource
was developed by BC teachers, instructional designers
and multimedia experts and was assessed by Aboriginal reviewers.
It is suitable for any senior English course in whole or
part as a short story or novel study.

- Writing style: persona, tone and voice, humour, and irony
Students read and review the novel Keeper‘n Me as well as seven short stories written by well-known Aboriginal writers. Assignments offer students choice, flexibility, and personal relevance. This online module is enhanced with rich and varied multimedia components that support a number of learning styles. These include a visual representation of a passage from Keeper’n Me and
a selection of Aboriginal audio recordings addressing healing through storytelling,
humour in storytelling, and a message for youth.
Aboriginal Fiction is
available, through our Online
Consortium, as part of our online English 12 course or as a
stand alone module.
We also offer this course on CD for individual use or a server
version for schools to license.
