Option B: Make a Model of a Shaduf

As you have learned, the Ancient Egyptians used a device called a shaduf to transfer water from one location to another. Make a model of a shaduf out of wood or other materials. Write a short description of how a shaduf worked as well. Send your teacher a photograph of your model, along with your written description. Do not send the model. (10 marks)

Marking Guide:

  • From the photograph, it is clear that you constructed your shaduf carefully and accurately. Its purpose and how it works is evident.
  • Your written description provides additional information about the shaduf.
